In 2007, she won a blue ribbon again at the Deerfield Fair, and this year she submitted two quilts to the prestigious Lowell quilt show “Images. The task force, which is charged with developing recommendations to help residents cope with the high cost of energy expected this winter, is seeking testimony from individuals, community organizations, local officials, charities, gas and electric distribution utilities, fuel distributors, insulation and weatherization contractors and others who can shed light on winter energy issues and suggest solutions and strategies to address them. Jeffrey Messick, whose wife, Samantha, is the daughter of Janice and Toby Keyser of Haverhill, recently completed the pre-deployment exercise Mojave Viper at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif. It took Kathleen Webb five years to finish her first quilt, but it only took a day to find out it won second-place in the Johnson County Fair. Kelly got to present the award to Webb last week at the fair, and now the quilt hangs on display in De Soto City Hall. Webb finally finished her quilt early in the morning of July 4, and she and her husband, Joe Webb, slept under it that night. When she told her mother-in-law Nell Webb, who is an avid quilter, that she had finished her first quilt, Nell asked if Webb remembered what she dreamt that night.

The segment that Sue presents is titled America Quilts Feature and the first episode is about Quilted Arts, free motion stitching and using your computer. The second episode includes techniques such as using a soldering iron and handmade fabric from paper, and fantastic fabric collages making scrap faces. The regular contributors present Printing on a Variety of Surfaces with Andrea Bishop from The Electric Quilt Company, and Sue Hausmann shows us how to sew half square triangles. The third episode includes fabric foiling and making and using surface embellishments for quilt panels and a marvelous segment with Betty Blais from Angelina. This Collection of four DVDs from the first season (Season 100) can be purchased from the Quilting Arts TV website for a very reasonable cost.
