The Wisconsin State Fair has been over for week, and I’m still thinking about it. I’m thinking about living in the largest city of a smallish state, and how that means I can go to the Fair on a whim or a last-minute invite, which is what I did. I’m thinking about how many cool things there are to do in this city, and how I can miss out on them through laziness and poor planning. He carried the mop I bought (yes, I’m a sucker), and he waited patiently in the Horticulture Building while I stayed in the Textile, Craft, and Culinary Exhibit for over an hour. I couldn’t find any published information on judging standards, so I’m planning to attend the actual judging of items next year. Saturday, August 22, 2009 One of the things I just love about crafters is their willingness to share instructions and patterns.

A love for quilting turns into business (Greene County Daily World)- Topic: quilting patterns
Hudson, owner and operator of Busy Bees, has been quilting for 30 years. Rilleda Hudson started quilting 30 years ago and hasn’t stopped since. That road trip to Tennessee was the start of what is now known as Busy Bees Machine Quilting and Supplies. Hudson’s business — located on Hoosier Road in rural Linton — offers a huge selection of fabric, patterns and supplies as well as quilting classes. For more information about quilting classes — which start in September– or directions to Busy Bees call 847-2417.
