Pontotoc County Home and Community Educator’s annual quilt show takes place April 23-24 at Pontotoc County Agri-plex, 1700 N. Quilt frames, hung from the ceiling to keep the quilt out of the way when not being worked on, were often used by individuals and group quilting. Busy Hands Quilt Club partners with Walmart,  using their donated fabric and pattern to make quilts. Vanoss Home and Community Education Club and Pontotoc County 4-H Club members also contribute to quilt making projects in the county each year. She's caring for babies like others did for hers - Winnipeg Free Press- quilting patterns

Kathy Murray holds son Lawson with daughter Nalley and the quilt top she made. If you’re Kathy Murray, you’re spearheading a campaign to provide quilts and sleepers to sick babies in the Women’s Hospital. Instead of taking Lawson home, Murray and her husband Shayne sat by his isolation bassinet in the intermediate care unit. Murray made a quilt for Lawson and decided to do something with the scraps. Murray, with her sweet Southern voice, talks about the challenges of having two children under the age of three (plus stepdaughter Maybel, 9), caring for a husband and home and running a labour-intensive charitable project.

(quilting patterns) Grotto celebrates vets return - Sealy News

Sixty-one years after the safe return of more than 60 Frydek men who left to serve in World War II, St. This marks the 61st annual Frydek Grotto Celebration, and although time has passed, the true meaning of what the Grotto represents still stands today. While some of the Frydek men were captured and then released, it was unique that all 65 Frydek men sent to fight in the war returned home alive. She turned me over to Barbara Hadjik and Miriam Janczak who along with their local quilting group spent about nine months in a labor of love finishing the quilt which will be one of the auction items Sunday.
