Local Business scene continues to grow - KNDO/KNDU(quilting patterns)

The local business scene continues to grow in the Tri-Cities as a quilting and clothing store makes it's way into downtown Kennewick. Today we talked with the owner who says the entire store is designed in quilted patterns, even the floor tiles. She tells us stores that sell already made quilts are difficult to come by in the Tri-Cities, but quilting is in high demand. The Yakima Schools Foundation held its 12th annual “Celebrate Our Youth” fundraiser Wednesday to benefit students and programs in the Yakima School District. Police in Kennewick are searching for the suspect involved in a stabbing Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future will have its next meeting at Hanford July on 14th and 15th.

(quilting patterns) Packing a lot of patterns into two vests - Kawartha Media Group (blog)

Most ladies have to stretch on their tippy toes to hold up their creations at quilt show-and-tell. Not Carole Erwin; she just slipped hers on and walked slowly around the room. She made two amazing vests that not only incorporated several techniques, they fit her perfectly. The first piece had a mini bargello on the back, pin tucks in front and flying geese shooting up sleeves. The second one had cats on the front and a crazy quilt on the back. Lois Tuffin is a newspaper editor who enjoys quilting, especially when there is no deadline.

Quilting more than a hobby for Clearfield woman - Clearfield Progress- quilting patterns

MacDonald first learned to quilt in the summer of 2008. Once she had approximately 20 quilts under her belt, MacDonald decided to start her own business, Yellow Rose Quilting Co. Her mother's death also inspired MacDonald to get involved with the Relay For Life. MacDonald also plans to auction a Steelers baby quilt for the Relay For Life, which is set for June 5-6. Not all of her quilts are in honor or memory of someone, but MacDonald was working on the Steelers quilt when her grandmother was diagnosed with skin cancer.
