Appleseed Quilters Guild will hold its fourth juried show - News Sentinel- Topic: quilting patterns
Fort Wayne’s 120-member Appleseed Quilters Guild was formed in 1993 for the purpose of “stimulating and creating interest in making, collecting, and preserving quilts. Sponsored by Edwards Sewing Center, the show offers workshops by nationally-known quilter/author Kim Diehl and guild members teaching appliqué, beaded embellishment, pin weaving and altered-photo techniques. Twenty-six local and national vendors will sell fabric, patterns, kits, tools and gadgets, while guild members will stock a boutique with handcrafted quilts, wall hangings, totes, purses, baby gifts, holiday decorations and accessories. From Egypt’s First Dynasty to Colonial America, history is replete with examples of whole-cloth, medallion and appliquéd quilts, quilted clothing, fanciful story quilts, trapunto and memory quilts.
