AUBURN — Tracy Kapocius and her son, Ben Proctor, live in Brunswick and are active in local theater, having appeared in many family productions together at Midcoast Youth Theater and with Ron Carroll and Friends in an annual concert called “Songs of Yesteryear” with all proceeds going to benefit the Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program. PORTLAND — Portland Ovations presents the West African highlife revivalists, Occidental Brothers Dance Band International, on Friday, Oct. The tradition of their sound stems from the acoustic palmwine music of coastal towns in Ghana, Sierra Leone and Nigeria that progressed into big dance band music and on to African guitar band music over the past four decades.
