Hartford, Lordstown celebrate autumn (Tribune Chronicle)- About: quilting patterns

While firefighters in Lordstown were battering and deep frying anything they could get their hands on and members of Lordstown’s Lions Club were pressing apples outside, a monument to craft making and domestic arts was set up inside Lordstown high school during the village’s Apple Cider festival Sunday. The event was all part of Lordstown’s annual Apple Cider Festival held Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In Lordstown, the Fabric Patchers Quilt Guild presented its fifth annual show to coordinate with the domestic arts display. Elaborate quilts of traditional bear claw and double wedding ring patterns were presented, along with original designs celebrating individual likes and fancies were displayed. Hartford’s event, at the intersection of state Routes 7 and 305, also included crafters and a flea market, along with games, rides, a pet parade, music, historical displays, food and, of course, an apple pie eating contest.
