Now that I had re-mastered the ability to sew a straight seam and evenly tie the layers of a quilt together, I thought I was ready for the big time. It’s the quilt each of us creates as we live life from day to day, making constant choices about how each unit of time is to be cut and placed in the overall scheme of things. Some units are of specified size, like the length of a school day, work day, or hours spent in a darkened movie theater.
