(quilting patterns) Krazy Quilters offer lesson on Nebraska - Wahoo Newspaper
PIECING IT TOGETHER Wahoo Elementary fourth graders Emma Hastings and Alex Wagner watch as classmate Carleigh Olson rolls out her section of the paper Nebraska History Quilt they made on Jan. Members of Krazy Quilters presented their Nebraska History Quilt to the students who are studying Nebraska history. The Krazy Quilters of Saunders County presented their quilt depicting the history of Nebraska to the students on Jan. According to fourth grade teacher Laurie Pearson, the quilt gave the students a different avenue for learning Nebraska history rather than just reading about it in a book. According to Krazy Quilter’s president Rose Rosengren of Colon, she and another member belong to the Nebraska State Quilt Guild and the history quilt is something the guild was promoting. After the quilt was presented to the students, the three sections of fourth graders returned to their rooms to make their own Nebraska history paper quilts.
